The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, thanks to the internal dToF system. It can maintain an unobtrusive appearance while providing the best in object detection. It is able to drive close to walls and avoid steps without crashing. It also raises the mop automatically when driving on short-pile carpets. However, it did struggle with longer-pile carpets and some long, thick messes of dried-on debris.
The S1 Pro is ready to go from the moment you purchase it, and it requires only a quick mapping run to discover your home. Once that's done the map will be displayed in the app and rooms can be added or combined as needed. You can also create virtual boundaries, no-go zones and no-mop areas if you don't want the robot to touch specific objects.
The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up spills from hard floors due to its rotating mop head that puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability both to mop and vacuum makes it an excellent choice for homes that have floors of both types. However, its dependence on Eufy cleaning products (which are included in the box) could make it less adaptable than other robots which permit you to include your own cleaning solutions.
